Pallavi Dobhal, an alumna of SKK GSB’s Full-Time MBA program, is a global marketing assistant manager at Nongshim. Reflecting on her time at SKK GSB, she said: “Coming from a non-business background, I initially lacked formal training in key business areas. The MBA provided a strong foundation in marketing, strategy, finance, and leadership. The marketing courses were especially valuable, and I continue to use the frameworks and analytical approaches from class to evaluate markets, marketing campaigns, and consumer behavior.”
Pallavi explained how she secured a full-time position following her internship: “Of course, my background as an Indian student in Korea helped me bring valuable insights into the Indian market. However, I also made a conscious effort not to limit myself to that market. I worked to understand the global food and Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry, stay updated on the latest marketing trends, and observe how global brands communicate with consumers across different countries. During my internship, I supported market research, influencer marketing, content review, and global marketing strategy-related tasks. I also made an effort to connect what I'd learned in my MBA to real business situations at Nongshim. SKK GSB’s Full-Time MBA played an important role in helping me secure both my internship and full-time position in Seoul.”
Pallavi emphasized the practical support provided by SKK GSB's Career Development Center, particularly in career planning, résumé preparation, and interview readiness. She also highlighted the importance of the MBA program's diversity: “Studying alongside classmates from diverse countries and professional backgrounds broadened my perspective and strengthened my understanding of different cultures and markets. This has been especially valuable in my current global marketing role, where cross-cultural communication is essential.”
For Pallavi, her marketing-related courses were particularly memorable due to their strong connection to real-world business applications. Marketing Strategy and Planning, in particular, strengthened her ability to analyze markets and develop strategic initiatives. She explained how these courses have influenced her career: “In my current role, I work on projects related to market trends, consumer behavior, product positioning, and new product opportunities. The frameworks and strategic thinking skills I gained at SKK GSB continue to help me approach these responsibilities more effectively.”
When choosing an MBA in Korea, Pallavi understood that SKK GSB, as a highly respected institution, would provide strong business education, valuable industry exposure, and better career opportunities both in Korea and internationally.
On top of this, she added: “I was also drawn to SKK GSB’s full-English MBA program. As an international student, I wanted the opportunity to study in Korea while remaining part of a truly global learning environment. The program allowed me to learn business concepts in English, collaborate with classmates from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds, and develop a broader international perspective. Another key factor was the flexibility of the curriculum. SKK GSB offers a wide range of courses and academic tracks, allowing students to explore areas such as marketing, strategy, finance, and leadership. This flexibility helped me better understand my interests, and it strengthened my confidence in pursuing a career in global marketing.”
Pallavi considers SKK GSB’s Full-Time MBA program an excellent choice for people who want to develop a global business mindset to build a career either in Korea or internationally.
SKK GSB’s strong alumni network helps its members to stay connected with a global community working across industries, companies, and countries long after graduation.
