Yeeseul Jung, a student in SKK GSB’s Business Analytics MBA (BA MBA), has transitioned from Pulmuone to S-Core, a Samsung affiliate, where she now works as a PI/AX consultant.
“At S-Core, I primarily provide consulting for Samsung affiliates undertaking process innovation, AI adoption, and digital transformation initiatives. When companies introduce new technologies, they often need to redesign their existing workflows. My role is to help them identify what needs to change and develop more effective business processes,” she explained.
Before joining S-Core, Yeeseul worked in customer experience and digital transformation at Pulmuone, where she analyzed voice-of-customer data to improve customer journeys and to implement digital solutions for internal platforms.
Explaining her decision to pursue the BA MBA, she said: "While managing customer data and leading digital transformation projects, I realized that I needed a deeper and more structured understanding of data analysis and technology adoption."
Because of the program, Yeeseul has been able to apply her learning in practice. While at Pulmuone, she won third prize in Pcell, the company’s internal new business innovation competition, by proposing an AI solution for plant-based transition. She identified bottlenecks in the product development process for Pulmuone’s plant-based brand, Jiguseikdan ("Diet for the Planet"), and proposed a business framework to streamline these tasks using an AI assistant. Drawing on her BA MBA experience, she built a proof of concept (PoC) model using an LLM API and a database.
Reflecting on her transition into a more technical role, she said: "Before joining the program, I could not understand a single line of Python or SQL. The BA MBA taught me that the goal is not to replace engineers but to understand how emerging technologies can be applied to solve real business problems and create business impact."
She also highlighted the Applied Business Project (ABP) as a defining experience. In this, she built an AI agent and explored how it could be implemented in a real business context. This gave her insight into the differences between designing AI systems and redesigning business workflows as well as into the importance of incorporating human oversight.
Looking back, Yeeseul noted that she has achieved most of the goals she had set before entering the program, including maintaining her scholarship, strengthening her expertise, and transitioning into IT consulting industry.
She recommends the BA MBA to professionals seeking to integrate business and technology: "If you are interested in AI transformation (AX) or digital transformation (DX), the BA MBA can help you combine your existing business experience with technological capabilities.”
