Dr. Mukhopadhyay’s current research interests are in supply chain management, reverse logistics, strategic management of quality, and new product development. Prior to joining academia, he worked for over 12 years in the fields of manufacturing and design in high-precision industries in India and Saudi Arabia. He received best paper awards from IIE Transactions and DSI Annual Conference and received
research excellence awards from SKK GSB and University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee where he has also received Gold Star teaching awards for several years.
His research has been published in top-tier journals like Operations Research, Production and Operations Management, Journal of Operations Management, European J. of Oper. Res., Naval Res. Logistics, and IIE Transactions among others. He served as a Senior Editor of Production and Operations Management
and is currently on the Editorial Review Boards of IEEE Transactions and International Journal of Business Analytics. He has taught at CEIBS and HKUST. He received a grant from SAP, USA to develop “Plug and Play” teaching modules. He took the lead role in the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee's joining the SAP University Alliance program which was later upgraded to University Competency Center, one of only 2 in
the US and 5 in the world.
