Trump's Flip-Flops Keep Financial Markets Spinning

Professor Terence Lim of SKK GSB at Sungkyunkwan University contributed a column to Korea Economic Daily, saying that global markets swung wildly amid Trump's flip-flops. "Everyone is unsure about what is to come, and as a result, stock prices and interest rates have fallen sharply. The fact that Trump could increase uncertainty throughout his presidency is a significant risk to the global economy," he noted. SKK GSB Global Leader Speaker Series – Unlocking AI's Potential in the Workplace

On Monday, March 31st, SKK GSB at Sungkyunkwan University welcomed Einav Lavi, Chief Human Resources Officer at EDB Corporation, to its Global Leader Speaker Series. EDB is the leading Postgres data and AI company. In her lecture, Einav spoke about how AI could transform the HR field, detailing how AI is supercharging People Teams. Einav described how AI can automate routine tasks, such as screening resumes, answering common employee queries, generating interview questions, and writing JDs, so that this frees up time for People Teams to focus on strategic, high-value tasks. Also, AI enables People Teams to process and analyze large amounts of data so they can make informed, objective decisions, including hiring, promotions, compensation, and more. Manisha, a Full-Time MBA student, shared, "The lecture by Einav was incredibly insightful, highlighting how AI is revolutionizing HR and the workplace with data-driven decision-making. It was fascinating to see how early adopters are setting the stage, leveraging AI for employee reviews and sentiment analysis to enhance efficiency and drive more strategic decisions. SKK GSB "AI & Business" Forum Hosts KPMG Korea's Head of AI Center on Accelerating Business Transformation Through AI

Mr. Tong-Keun Lee, Partner and Head of the AI Center of KPMG Korea, delivered an insightful lecture titled "Beyond AI: Accelerate Business Transformation with AI" to Business Analytics and AI MBA students at SKK Graduate School of Business last Saturday. In his lecture, he shared practical insights into digital transformation, AI-driven business strategies, and low-code development approaches. He outlined strategies companies use to accelerate transformation and innovation through AI integration. By examining real-world cases such as AI governance consulting for Samsung Financial Group and the generative AI PoC for Lotte Wellfood, he explained how AI is being utilized within companies and introduced various examples related to AX enhancement. "This lecture is part of SKK GSB's ongoing commitment to prepare our students for an AI-transformed business landscape," said Professor Raunaq Pungaliya, the Vice Dean of AI and Analytics Programs at SKK GSB. "SKK GSB has strategically positioned itself at the intersection of business and technology. Sustainability Academy: A Closer Look At Trump's Energy Policies

Full-Time students at Sungkyunkwan University's SKK GSB took a closer look at Trump's energy policies during the "Investing in Climate, Investing in Growth (ICIG)" forum. The U.S. is the world's largest oil and natural gas producer, thanks to the shale revolution. The U.S. seeks to expand its global influence through energy exports such as LNG and other resources, solidifying its position as an energy superpower. Trump has said the U.S. needs to increase traditional oil and gas production in order to reduce energy prices for Americans. Ultimately, the Trump administration's aim is to lower energy prices to reduce the cost of living for the middle class. This is another reason Trump aimed at lowering energy prices — to ensure the competitiveness of energy-intensive industries such as AI and data centers. To maintain competitiveness in energy-intensive industries, it is crucial to have a cheap, abundant, and clean electricity supply. Sustainability Academy: Samsung Guide Dog School Visit

Do you think that guide dogs for visually impaired people should suppress their instincts and endure stress? The answer is no. If a guide dog sleeps on the subway, it's because they feel safe with their owner, not because they are tired. If a guide dog feels unsafe, they never fall asleep. Full-Time MBA students of Sungkyunkwan University's SKK GSB visited the Samsung Guide Dog School. They couldn't hide their smiles every time they saw and walked with the guide dogs. They gained a better understanding of guide dogs. There are many misconceptions about guide dogs, but whenever they see one, they realize that they need to think, "This dog has a wonderful life." Additionally, the students discovered how to create a successful CSR program. When a company implements a CSR program, it's essential to create new value and make a positive impact on society. Sustainability Academy: Wind Energy Industry in Korea

It was a special day for Sungkyunkwan University's SKK GSB Full-Time students to learn about wind farms in Korea. They gained insights into the wind energy industry and discovered more about the largest wind farm in Korea. Wind speed is a crucial factor in establishing a wind farm. In Korea, wind farms are typically located on mountaintops. When wind encounters a mountain, it accelerates due to the topographic effect. The largest wind farm in Korea is the Gangwon Wind Farm, which was established in 2001. It produces 226 GWh of electricity annually, supplying power to more than 20,000 households per year. Winter 2025 SKK GSB Graduation Ceremony

Saturday, 1 March, was a special day for many, as over 100 graduates received their MBA degrees at Sungkyunkwan University's SKK GSB Winter Graduation Ceremony. Full-Time, Executive, and Professional MBA program graduates celebrated their achievements. The Dean of SKK GSB, Andrew Yi, congratulated the graduates and acknowledged their dedication: "The education you received at SKK GSB is the starting point to keep your knowledge grow and multiply. Have an interest in improving the lives of others. Your work and effort will be amply rewarded in more ways than you may have ever imagined." 2025 SKK GSB Alumni New Year's Party

Over 100 alumni from Sungkyunkwan University's SKK GSB gathered at the Grand Hyatt Seoul Hotel for the Alumni New Year's Party on Thursday, February 27. The Alumni New Year's Party is one of the SKK GSB's most significant alumni events. Alumni reunited to network, reminisce, and enjoy dinner and a lucky draw. The evening kicked off with congratulatory remarks by Dongwon Kim, President of the Alumni Association, and an address by Andrew Yi, Dean of SKK GSB. Dongwon Kim expressed his appreciation to the gathered alumni, saying, "Your kindness and commitment make evenings like this possible, and more importantly, they strengthen the bonds that connect us as alumni." Andrew Yi addressed our proud alumni, "The alumni of SKK GSB are the foundation and the future of our school." Thank you to everyone who attended this year's Alumni New Year's Party!
