A special event, co-hosted by SEA Tech Korea and SKK GSB at Sungkyunkwan University, has successfully concluded.
SEA Tech Korea is a community founded by our Full-Time MBA student, Filicia Salim (FMBA 2026), to connect Southeast Asians and Koreans in the tech ecosystem.
Over 80 people attended the event, which featured a panel discussion on the Korean venture capital landscape with high-profile speakers, as well as a networking session with tech professionals and MBA students from top business schools in Korea.
In the panel discussion, prominent venture capitalists discussed the current Korean VC landscape. They pointed out that the VCs in Korea are having a tough time due to several reasons including the current economic and geopolitical situation both locally and globally.
However, they noted that there are also some opportunities. For example, by exploring the possibilities of going international – either for fundraising or market expansion.
Dias Shakubayev, from Korea University's GSIS, who attended the event, shared, "This event was really good, especially since I'm interested in venture capital and finance in Korea. We learned a lot of interesting things related to how VCs are investing and reallocating their assets, especially within the Asia-Pacific region. If there are similar events, I hope to join."
