Investing in the Age of AI: Insights from the SKK GSB Investment Forum

On October 12, SKK GSB welcomed three leading investors to the SKK GSB Investment Forum “Investing in the Age of AI,” hosted by the AI & Business Innovation Lab.

SKK GSB Professor of Finance Terence Lim moderated a discussion with three investors: Yong Hyun Kim, Managing Partner at Envisioning Partners; Richard Song, Partner at Altos Ventures; and Jongwon Lee, Managing Partner at H&Q Korea. Drawing on their experience in venture capital, growth investing, and private equity, the speakers explored how investors evaluate businesses, support their growth, and make investment decisions in the age of AI.

The discussion examined what makes a company worthy of investment, how Korean businesses can grow into global leaders, and how investors maintain discipline in rapidly changing markets. The speakers shared insights into the opportunities AI creates for businesses, while highlighting investment principles that remain important as technology evolves.

Reflecting on the forum, Sol Jung (PMBA 2022) shared: “Hearing different investors’ perspectives in one place helped me think more broadly about investing and evaluating businesses in the age of AI. Their insights resonated because they were grounded in firsthand experience. What stood out most was understanding how they make investment decisions, beyond simply following trends. I hope we have more forums like this, and I’m grateful to SKK GSB for bringing everyone together.”

The forum offered participants an opportunity to learn from experienced investors and to consider how AI is shaping business evaluation and investment strategy.

SKK GSB thanks the speakers, moderator, and attendees for contributing to an engaging exchange of perspectives.
