Our EMBA students recently wrapped up an impressive Global Immersion Program entitled “Leader as Learner: The Executive Edge” on location at the Kelley School of Business in Bloomington, Indiana, U.S.A. The program blended research-based insights with practical applications, ensuring that leaders not only learn but translate lessons directly into action at work.

As global organizations face unrelenting complexity—technology shifts, competitive disruption, and cross-cultural collaboration—this program strengthens managers who are stepping into leadership roles with greater responsibilities. By participating in such international experiences, our students also gain a broader perspective on global business practices and foster a more global mindset.

In their recent course, students learned practical frameworks to influence, motivate, and unlock team potential through Empathy and Coaching Sessions, and they were guided through processes to define a personal leadership roadmap via Leadership Identity Reflection. One student reflected on this experience: “I realized leadership is not just about solving problems quickly—it's about asking better questions and creating space for others to grow.”

Students consistently described the week as “transformative”—a rare opportunity to step back from execution and to redefine their leadership approach through practice, reflection, and peer feedback.

최근 우리 EMBA 학생들은 미국 인디애나주 블루밍턴에 위치한 켈리 비즈니스 스쿨에서 “학습자로서의 리더: 경영진의 경쟁력 강화” 이라는 주제의 Global Immersion Program을 성공적으로 마쳤습니다. 이 프로그램은 연구 기반의 통찰력과 실무 적용을 결합해 리더들이 단순히 배우는 데 그치지 않고 배운 내용을 업무에 직접 적용할 수 있도록 했습니다.

글로벌 조직이 기술 변화, 경쟁적 혼란, 그리고 문화 간 협업 등 끊임없는 복잡성에 직면한 상황에서, 이 프로그램은 더 큰 책임을 지는 리더십 역할로 나아가는 관리자들의 역량을 강화합니다. 이러한 국제적 경험을 통해 학생들은 글로벌 비즈니스 관행에 대한 폭넓은 시각을 얻고, 더 글로벌한 사고방식을 함양할 수 있습니다.

최근 진행된 과정에서 학생들은 ‘공감과 코칭 세션’을 통해 팀의 잠재력을 이끌어내고 동기를 부여하는 실질적인 프레임워크를 배웠으며, ‘리더십 정체성 성찰’을 통해 개인의 리더십 로드맵을 정의하는 과정을 안내받았습니다. 한 학생은 “리더십은 단순히 문제를 빠르게 해결하는 것이 아니라, 더 나은 질문을 던지고 다른 사람들이 성장할 수 있는 공간을 만드는 것임을 깨달았습니다.”라고 이 프로그램에 대한 소감을 전했습니다.

 학생들은 이번 일주일간의 과정을 일관되게 “변화를 가져다주는 경험”이라고 표현하며, 실행에서 잠시 벗어나 실천, 성찰, 동료 피드백을 통해 자신만의 리더십 접근 방식을 재정의할 수 있는 드문 기회였다고 평가했습니다.
