KIM, TAI-YOUNG

Professor

Tai-Young (Paul) Kim is Professor of Graduate School of Business (SKK GSB) at Sungkyunkwan University in Seoul, Korea. Before he joined the SKK GSB, he had been Assistant Professor of Management of Organizations at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKSUT), 2000-2004. He was a visiting Scholar at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Sloan School of Management in 2005, INSEAD in France, for 2017-2018, and Waseda University in Japan in 2018. He holds Ph.D. from Sociology (Organization Theory) at Stanford University.

His main research and teaching interests include corporate strategy, organizational design, social identity, social networks, and corporate social performance. He published articles at top-ranked journals such as Administrative Science Quarterly, Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Organization Science, Journal of Economic Geography, and Industrial and Corporate Change.

 

He lectured and consulted for major Korean companies on ‘Corporate Strategy’ and ‘ESG Strategy’ that integrates social value and economic value and published books, ‘Next Champion’ (2019) on ESG strategy and ‘Better Corporate Philanthropy’ (2023) on strategic corporate philanthropy.
