- [FMBA] Career Talk with FMBA Alumnus: Johannes Nanz
- (On the right, Johannes Nanz) On September 30, SKK GSB held a Career Talk with Johannes Nanz (Full-Time MBA, 2015). Originally from Germany, Johannes had been in the legal profession before his MBA. During his MBA studies, he developed solid business knowledge and a strong network in Korea. Now he works at LG Electronics as a Global HR specialist. In our Career Talk, Johannes shared job-hunting tips and insights on HR trends. While stressing the importance of Korean language skills, he also highlighted making oneself marketable. He advised making a routine of job applications to lessen stress in the job search journey. Regarding HR trends, he noted changes in recruitment such as position-based, competence assessment; and flexible work environments. Thanks to Johaness’s session, the attendees expanded their understanding of searching for jobs as a foreigner in Korea, how to be ‘marketable’, and learned some tips on applying in particular to LG Electronics. SKK GSB’s Career Development Center (CDC) is dedicated to connecting students and alumni for networking and opportunities. It, therefore, organizes regular events called "Career Talk." In these sessions, alumni share their experiences at SKK GSB, and explain the paths they then followed.

- [FMBA] Friday Chat with Alumni: Here is the recap of Spring 2022
- SKK GSB’s Career Development Center (CDC) is dedicated to connecting students and alumni for networking and opportunities. Therefore, the CDC organizes regular events called "Friday Chat with Alumni". In these sessions, alumni share their experiences at SKK GSB and the paths they followed afterward. In this spring’s first session, Friday Chat invited students to hear Symean Chao (FMBA, 2020) on how to grasp internship opportunities in Korea's finance sector. A proud SKK GSB alumna, Symean is currently working as an underwriter at AmWest Funding Korea. In this session, Symean shared her insights on understanding the Korean job market and answered all questions heartfully. The following Friday Chat was with Asyl Uraimova (FMBA, 2020). Asyl related her career-changing experience: she initially worked in data analytics and changed to the entertainment industry, particularly mobile games. She shared her exciting career change stories and how she is now successfully working as a global recruiter in 4:33 Creative Lab. Next, our Full-Time MBA students were pleased to have Gabi Yoon as the Friday Chat with Alumni guest. Gabi currently works as a consultant in digital consumer intelligence and marketing strategy at S-Core (Samsung Group Consulting). She shared her insights on how students can broaden their network successfully, especially in the marketing sector. Last but not least, CDC prepared a coffee chat with our alumnus and the president of his cohort, Tyron Sabatta (FMBA, 2021). Tyron is currently the CMO of eMoldino, an loT and Al solutions company. Our students could learn a lot from this chat: Tyron's experiences as CMO, and how he forged his own path to where he is now. - SKK GSB Celebrates 15 Years of Success on Homecoming Day
- Last Monday, SKK GSB celebrated their annual Homecoming Day with a banquet. This year’s celebration highlighted a major milestone in SKK GSB history: the 15th anniversary of its inception. Students, faculty, administrators, and Alumni from all over the world came out to show their love and appreciation for SKK GSB. Dean Jae Ha Lee gave an invigorating speech about the history of SKK GSB and the road to how it became one of the most globalized MBA programs in the world. It is quite remarkable to think about all that the school has been able to accomplish in such a short amount of time. It has climbed the rankings to become the top MBA program in Korea. Also, it is ranked 42nd out of over 2,000 MBA programs in the world. Dean Lee assured that these major accomplishments are only the beginning to more success in the future. The night was then followed by several exciting and entertaining presentations. There was an award presentation highlighting the achievements of several alumnus. Also, there was a video presentation that included students, alumnus, faculty members, and leaders from our partner schools. They all congratulated SKK GSB for their 15th anniversary and they also expressed their gratitude and pride for our thriving program. Following the presentations, dinner was served and the lively Nanta ensemble commenced. Nanta is a special Korean Drum production that incorporates dance and music. The stars of the show were actually some of our own MBA students from the Class of 2021. This exciting performance was the perfect way to end the evening. Overall, Homecoming Day was a tremendous success and an amazing way to bring in the 15th anniversary of SKK GSB. It was truly amazing to see everyone come together to celebrate such a momentous occasion. Until the next 15th anniversary, we wish our amazing institution continued growth and success. - 2016 Homecoming Day
- October 26, 2016 Yu Ting Liu; PR Committee of SKK GSB At the end of October, the beginning of beautiful autumn, SKK GSB office held a big event, “Home Coming Day” which is an important annual gathering. On this day, we invite all of the alumni and the current students from FMBA, PMBA and EMBA at GSB. For those of us who are job seekers, entrepreneurs and executives working in Korea’s global companies, this is a good opportunity to broaden our network. For guests from big companies or overseas, this is also a good event to communicate with the new generations. The GSB office continues to strengthen the bridge we are building between faculty, alumni and students, making the strongest connection with each SKK GSB family member. After checking attendance at the entrance, guests entered the auditorium where a delicious buffet style dinner and wine was laid out for all the participants. For the first half of event, guests were seated randomly, sitting with people from other programs or with faculty members. We also invited a special guest Professor Eric Richards from our sister school, Indiana University. A short talk was delivered by the Dean and the President of SKK Alumni Association. Several alumni were awarded a certificate for their excellent service to the school. Also, to show foreign guests and foreign students traditional Korean culture, we invited a Korean music band playing K-POP songs and old style Korean folk music with traditional instruments. We sincerely appreciate everyone who attended this big event. Participation by so many of our alumni will be a big encouragement to all the juniors and professors.
