PR Committee of SKK GSB
KMS (Korean MBA Society) started in 2013 with the top 7 MBA schools (SKK, Ewha, KAIST, Korea, SNU, Sogang, Yonsei) as members. KMS is a society trying to connect all the MBA programs in South Korea. KMS provides an opportunity for MBA students to communicate with various experienced people and to develop valuable relationships. Also KMS provides not only public lectures but also future career education to our members. Such a program is very helpful for young students to plan a future career and to renew passion in older students.
In 2016, Yujun Lee, an SKK GSB student, was elected as President of KMS. Yujun Lee has had a varied career abroad for 7 years, so he is going to unite not only Korean MBA students but also international students. We expect him to be active as President of KMS in 2016.
Aspiration of Yujun Lee as president of KMS in 2016
It is my honor to serve as the fifth president of Korean MBA Society (KMS).
KMS was organized by an SKK GSB alumni in 2013 for networking purposes. Currently, seven leading business schools are included in our network.
MBA is all about networking because it enables us to seize more opportunities in our future career which is the goal we want to achieve through our MBA program.
The class of 2018 has 37 full-time MBA students in SKK GSB and other Korean MBA programs also have a similar class size. On the other hand, the 20 top US business schools have 382 full-time students on average and Harvard business school has 934 students. Relatively, most Korean MBA students may not have enough networking opportunities inside of business schools.
In 2017, I and KMS representatives plan to design optimal activities to provide more networking events and professional groups with a quarterly KMS party. A case study about master networker Heidi Roizen was very impressive and I believe KMS could be an organization like hers.
It is a big ambitious and audacious goal to innovate the current KMS. I believe it could be achieved in 2017 since we have huge potential but didn’t create enough value. I’m sure that all KMS members would enjoy value through sustainable networking activities.
The best way to network is to serve events for other students. This is our organization. We should ask what we can do for KMS.
Thanks. SKK GSB, Ewha, KAIST, Korea, SNU, Sogang, and Yonsei
